STATE LIBRARY OF VICTORIA ANNUAL REPORT
The Brief
Create an annual report for the State Library of Victoria from a plain text document and create an aesthetically pleasing, yet informative and clear publication. Without changing the source text, create a narrative that helps drive the story of the State Library’s 2025 year by creating a visual style and fitting title for the document to be presented to all stakeholders.
The Approach
For this publication, I focused on the story of the library’s journey to step into the virtual space. The narrative was ‘Going Digital’ by creating a timeless retro-futuristic aesthetic with italicised pixelated text and formatting reminiscent of a 1980s personal computer. This captured the library’s history of making major investments in technology while never losing touch with their book based roots.
